The best food and drink products from
across Wales have been recognised in the 11th Wales the
True Taste Food and Drink Awards.
Held at the
Food Hall, Royal Welsh Showground, Builth Wells, the 2012-13
Wales the True Taste Food and Drink Awards ceremony showcased
and rewarded the best and most innovative food and drink
products from Wales, and recognised excellence in the
food and drink sector.
Over the past decade thousands of companies have competed
in the Welsh Government Awards which this year attracted
some 830 entries from over 250 diverse companies.
Glasfryn Farm Shop's Gold winning
entry is their special recipe pork tenderloin filled with
pork and garlic stuffing and wrapped in Cig Moch Pen Llyn
bacon.
"I think the secret to the success
of this unique dish is that we use locally sourced ingredients
including Glasfryn Farm Shop's award-winning bacon."
Commented Jonathan Williams Ellis, owner of Glasfryn Farm
Shop "We are very proud to have been awarded Gold
and special mention must go to our butchers, Garry Oliver,
Paul Randall and Kath Cox, who have worked hard to perfect
this recipe." he continued.
Glasfryn
Farm Shop sells a wide range of locally produced meat
including Welsh Black T-Bone steaks which have recently
been awarded two gold stars in the prestigious Great Taste
Awards 2012/13. The Farm Shop and butchery have recently
undergone an expansion and has now doubled in size. "I
am a massive supporter of local producers and suppliers
and with this additional space, Glasfryn Farm Shop is
able to sell a broader range of fresh, dry and frozen
goods. Our homemade ready meals, sausages and bacon continue
to be extremely popular and our intention is to make these
even more widely available. This year we've been able
to source locally produced turkeys, geese, ducks and capons
for Christmas customers. I'm sure that together with the
bespoke hampers we offer, we'll be very busy over the
Christmas period." Continued Jonathan.
Siop
