Here at Glasfryn
Farm Shop we have invested a little more effort in sourcing real continental
foods to fill our shelves. We have been able not only to find produce
at its place of origin, but also experienced companies who specialise
in importing these fine foods on our behalf.
We all expect
to pay a little extra for fine quality food, but here at Glasfryn
Farm Shop, every effort has been made, whilst maintaining the quality
of foods we sell, to maintain also our reasonable and competitive
prices.
From France, we
have a range of tinned, succulent fish fillets marinated in such delightful
ingredients as Muscadet wine, Dijon mustard sauce, Provence tomatoes
and lemon and basil dressing. Two favourites with our customers are
an authentic chilled Gazpacho soup concentrate and a gourmet French
fish soup with saffron, which can be elegantly accompanied by French
Rouille or Aiolli, and garlic croutons, also available here.
From the cathedral
city of Reims in northern France (the unofficial capital of the region
of Champagne) comes to our shelves a selection of fine vinegars, which
include champagne vinegar, sherry vinegar and red wine vinegar with
raspberries. Also from Reims we have traditionally baked almond macaroons
and sweet raspberry meringues. Extending our continental condiments
range, we have tins of herbs de Provence with French lavender and
genuine Spanish saffron from the Alicante region of Spain.
The nostalgic
taste of traditional lemonade is unique and hard to find, but here
at Glasfryn Farm Shop we have found a company on the outskirts of
Paris who have been bottling lemonade traditionally since 1885. Lorina
lemonade comes to us in traditional glass bottles with old-fashioned
ceramic stoppers in luscious flavours such as French red berry, traditional
pink and traditional lemon.
